In an unusual marketing move, the first footage from Dan Gilroy's "Nightcrawler" has arrived online in the form of a montage of Jake Gyllenhaal seemingly applying for several jobs and getting upset about it.
There's no credits, no titles, just a clip which was uploaded to an unspecific YouTube account a few days ago and is only now scoring some traction. Gyllenhaal lost a considerable amount of weight to play Lou Bloom, a hungry young freelance journalist who dives head-first into the world of L.A. crime.
Gilroy, who penned films such as "Two for the Money," "The Bourne Legacy," "The Fall" and "Real Steel," makes his directorial debut on the movie which also stars Rene Russo, Bill Paxton and Riz Ahmed. The film is likely to premiere on the Fall film circuit.
