It has taken them some time to select one, but Summit Entertainment has finally announced an April 17th 2015 release date for Daniel Espinosa's much anticipated adaptation of Tom Rob Smith's novel "Child 44".
Set in Stalinst Russia in the 1950s, where the official decree of the state is that "there is no crime," Tom Hardy plays a disgraced MGB agent investigating a series of child murders. He soon finds himself the target of his own government when he learns the elusive killer may have connections to the highest levels of the party.
Noomi Rapace, Gary Oldman, Jason Clarke, Joel Kinnaman, and Vincent Cassel also star in the film which Richard Price wrote and which Ridley Scott and Michael Costigan produced. Shot late Summer last year, there was hope the film might get a late 2014 release.
