With Scandi-noir (or Nordic Noir) continuing to prove popular around the world, U.S. networks continue moving forward with remakes of said shows to try and pull in viewers who don't care about subtitled TV shows or murder thrillers set around the Baltic Sea.
Following on from"The Killing," "The Bridge," the cancelled "Those Who Kill" and the in the works "Borgen," the latest remake of an acclaimed Danish series is dropping the darkness and cop drama elements in favor of a more straightforward family drama which Universal Cable Productions will produce for airing on the USA Network.
"The Legacy" follows the four children of an internationally renowned artist who dies, leaving them to divide her estate. What should be easy turns into anything but as secrets and lies are exposed, and lives irrevocably changed as a result.
"Edge of Tomorrow" director Doug Liman has come onboard to produce the series alongside Dave Bartis ("Covert Affairs") and Gene Klein ("Suits"). The announced comes the same day that USA has ordered the hacker drama "Mr. Robot" from the same production company.
