Thomas Jane has scored the starring role in Syfy's "The Expanse," a TV series adaptation of James S.A. Corey's space-set "Leviathan Wakes" novels.
Set two centuries in the future when much of our solar system has been colonised, Jane plays a hardened detective from the Asteroid Belt who works for a corporate security force.
He teams with a rogue ship's captain to find the truth about a missing heiress and its ties to the greatest conspiracy in human history. The project has a ten-episode straight-to-series commitment and will likely premiere sometime next year.
"Children of Men" and "Iron Man" scribes Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby are set to serve as show runners alongside Naren Shankar ("CSI").
