Mr. Holmes
"47 Ronin" and "Helix" star Hiroyuki Sanada is set to join Ian McKellen in Bill Condon's "Mr. Holmes" which is currently filming in London. The story follows an aging Sherlock Holmes who sets out to solve an unfinished case before he loses his keen mental faculties.

Sanada will play Umezaki, a Prickly Ash plant enthusiast who Holmes visits in Japan. Laura Linney is also onboard as Holmes’ housekeeper. Jeffrey Hatcher adapted the script based on Mitch Cullin's novel "A Slight Trick of the Mind". [Source: Deadline]

Grimsby
Penelope Cruz is in final negotiations to join Sacha Baron Cohen in Louis Leterrier's spy comedy "Grimsby" at Sony Pictures. Cruz will play a philanthropic corporate leader who may (or may not) be more than she seems.

Mark Strong plays a James Bond type forced to hide in his hometown and team up with his English football hooligan brother (Baron Cohen). Rebel Wilson, Ian McShane, Gabourey Sidibe and Annabelle Wallis also star. Shooting is underway in the United Kingdom and South Africa. [Source: THR]

The Woman In Gold
Frances Fisher has joined the cast of Simon Curtis' "The Woman In Gold". The fact-based drama follows a Holocaust survivor (Helen Mirren) who sets out to retrieve family possessions seized by the Nazis.

Fisher will play the mother of Ryan Reynolds' lawyer character in the film. Tatiana Maslany, Daniel Bruhl, and Katie Holmes also star. [Source: Deadline]

How To Talk to Girls at Parties
Elle Fanning ("Maleficent") is attached to star in John Cameron Mitchell's film adaptation of Neil Gaiman's 2006 short story "How to Talk to Girls at Parties".

The story follows two teen boys who go to a party in 1970s London. While one has no trouble scoring a girl right off the bat, the shy one has to find a way to make conversation. Fanning plays a female alien tourist who wants to explore the galaxy's most dangerous place - Croydon. [Source: Heat Vision]

Pixels
Jane Krakowski ("30 Rock") has joined the cast of Chris Columbus'"Pixels" for Sony Pictures. The story deals with aliens invading Earth after misinterpreting feeds of classic arcade games as a declaration of intergalactic war.

Adam Sandler plays Jules Brenner who leads a team of video game experts hired to fend off the invasion. Krakowski will play the First Lady opposite Kevin James as her husband, U.S. President Cooper. Filming is underway in Toronto. [Source: Deadline]
