John Goodman is in talks to star in Dan Trachtenberg's low-budget thriller "Valencia" for Paramount Insurge and Bad Robot. J.J. Abrams will produce and Dan Casey penned the most recent draft of the script.
Set primarily in an underground cellar, the story follows a teen girl who wakes up in the cellar after a car accident, at which point her eerie companion (Goodman) tells her a nuclear attack has devastated society. [Source: Variety]

The Darling Buds of May
Matthew Rhys ("The Americans") has signed on to star in Christian Carion's World War II-set indie film "Darling Buds of May," not to be confused with the H. E. Bates novel and the TV series adaptation of that which starred Catherine Zeta-Jones.
Rhys plays a stranded British army officer who teams up with a German fugitive to find his son in Nazi-occupied France. [Source: Deadline]
Kate Lyn Sheil ("House of Cards") and Aurora Perrineau ("Jem and the Holograms") have joined the cast of Drake Doremus' futuristic love story "Equals". The story is set in a future society where emotions have been eradicated, a new breed of humans live peacefully until a disease begins activating emotions in its victims, who are sent away and never seen again.
Sheil will play Kate, a fellow co-worker of Kristen Stewart and Nicholas Hoult's lead characters. Perrineau will play one of the infected who is able to hide her condition. [Source: Deadline]
