Collective Digital Studio, a YouTube multichannel network, has begun talks for an online series adaptation of author James Patterson's nine-book fantasy series "Maximum Ride".
The company has picked up the exclusive online rights to the young adult franchise and has begun talks with YouTube talent about the programming event.
The series follows Max, a female avian-human hybrid who escapes with other mutants from the lab where they have been raised. More than 30 million copies of the novel series have been sold to date.
Patterson, Gary Binkow, Leopoldo Gout and Bill Robinson will executive produce. The announcement follows the recent event series order by CBS for an adaptation of Patterson's thriller "Zoo" in which nature starts fighting back against humanity.
