It was only a single scene in the fifth season of FX's "Sons of Anarchy," but beloved "Justified" actor Walton Goggins left such an impression as the transgender Venus Van Dam that it came as no surprise he was invited back for a more extensive appearance in two further episodes of the sixth season.
Now, 'Sons' creator Kurt Sutter has confirmed on Twitter that Goggins will be back again for the seventh season: "I am very happy to report that in season 7 of SOA, THERE WILL BE SOME MUTHAF----N' VENUS!".
The nature of the appearance is unknown. Venus' brief fifth season cameo was the comic highlight of the season, whereas the sixth season appearance was much more emotional, dimensional and sad as it explored her background including her twisted porno-producing mother (Adrienne Barbeau) and the son she wants to take away from her nasty family.
Both "Justified" and "Sons of Anarchy" are set to wrap their runs on the network with their upcoming sixth and seventh season respectively, and Goggins is someone long overdue for awards recognition. A double win for playing Venus and Boyd Crowder would hardly be undeserved.
