Glowing reaction is dripping out of a recent New York City test screening of "The Imitation Game," the long gestating biopic about Alan Turing with "Sherlock" star Benedict Cumberbatch in the role.
Keira Knightley, Rory Kinnear, Allen Leech and Matthew Goode also star in the film about the Bletchley Park codebreaker and cryptographic genius who was chemically castrated by the British government for being gay. The Weinstein Company are planning to release the film later this year where it's expected to be a major contender in this year's awards race.
According to The Radio Times, one attendee said: "That preview screening. All the nominations. The Imitation Game is so good. People are going to be all over it this fall. Cumberbatch's best role and performance."
Others have weighed in confirming they've heard similar reports out of the screening with Cumberbatch's work in particular praised highly. Whilst there's been a few photos released so far, it's hoped the first trailer for the film will debut sometime soon.
