Jason Momoa ("Conan the Barbarian," "Game of Thrones") has been cast as Aquaman in the Zack Snyder's upcoming "Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice" and "Justice League" films.
Momoa has been long linked to Warners' upcoming DC film plans but he's been suggested for numerous roles varying from Martian Manhunter to Doomsday. Momoa has been asked about the rumor several times but has generally laughed it off.
Today, Hitfix has confirmed his casting as Aquaman, saying Snyder has already finalized his designs for the character so shooting can take place soon. The character will cameo in 'Dawn' ahead of a larger appearance in 'League'.
The fallout of Superman's battle with Zod in "Man of steel" and the resulting collateral damage to Metropolis will apparently play a big part in the follow-up. It's likely what draws Batman to Metropolis, it's what allows Lex Luthor to paint Superman in a monstrous light, and the impact the World Engine had on the Indian Ocean draws out Aquaman.
