Filmmakers Cameron Crowe and J.J. Abrams are teaming to develop the TV pilot for an ensemble comedy series called "Roadies" which Abrams' Bad Robot would produce.
Winnie Holzman, the creator of "My So-Called Life" and writer of the musical "Wicked." would serve as showrunner on the series which follows a group of people on a U.S. rock tour.
Crowe has penned and is slated to direct the pilot. The project is being made for Showtime and if picked up to series they would air it.
Crowe is currently in post-production on an untitled rom-com with Bradley Cooper and Emma Stone that opens at Christmas.
