A month after he entered talks, "Drive" and "Only God Forgives" director Nicolas Winding Refn has dropped out of directing the haunted hotel horror tale "The Bringing" at Sony Pictures.
Negotiations between Refn and the studio have reportedly stalled and Refn is apparently moving away from the project
Brandon and Phillip Murphy penned the script which is said to be based on the real life and death of Elisa Lam, a Canadian woman who traveled to Los Angeles, and ended up dead in a water tank on the roof of a downtown hotel.
Refn's next film will stick in the genre though, the all-female "I Walk With the Dead" which will shoot in Los Angeles.
