Michael Bay's "Transformers: Age of Extinction," the upcoming fourth installment in the sci-fi action franchise, is on course to have the biggest box-office opening of the year to date.
The first pre-release tracking figures for the weekend it opens (June 27th) are in and the numbers suggest it will cross $100 million in its North American debut - topping April's $95 million start for "Captain America: The Winter Soldier".
Mark Wahlberg leads the cast of the new film which is also expected to do huge business internationally, and these early projections could be revised upwards as the movie's release draws closer.
Speaking of the film, a new featurette is out showcasing the IMAX 3D Digital Camera. 'Extinction' is the first feature film shot with this compact, fully-integrated dual 65mm 4K digital large-format 3D camera.
