Mike Epps, Tika Sumpter and Charles S. Dutton are set to co-star in Dee Rees' HBO telemovie "Bessie" starring Queen Latifah as the iconic blues singer.

The story chronicles how Smith overcame her tempestuous personal life to become an acclaimed performer. Dutton will play William 'Pa' Rainey, husband of Ma Rainey (Mo'Nique). Epps plays her bootlegger love interest Richard Morgan, Sumpter plays chorus girl Lucille. [Source: Deadline]

Mal de Pierres
Marion Cotillard ("Inception") is set to star in Nicole Garcia's period romance drama "Mal de Pierres".

An adaptation of Milena Agus' eponymous novel, the story follows the destiny of a passionate, free-spirited woman who is in a loveless marriage and falls for another man. [Source: Variety]

Untitled Spielberg Cold War Film
Acclaimed stage actor Mark Rylance is in negotiations to co-star with Tom Hanks in Steven Spielberg's untitled Cold War thriller for DreamWorks. Details of his role are unknown.

The story follows James Donovan, a prominent American attorney enlisted by the CIA during the Cold War to slip behind the Iron Curtain to negotiate the release of a pilot captured when his U2 spy plane was shot down over Russia. [Source: Variety]

The Longest Ride
Lolita Davidovich has joined the cast of the Nicholas Sparks adaptation "The Longest Ride" for Fox 2000. Scott Eastwood, Britt Robertson and Oona Chaplin also star in the George Tillman Jr.-helmed drama.
