A few weeks back photos leaked of some kind of sculpture of Superman's torso with what appeared to be a glimpse at the texture of the new suit that Henry Cavill will sport in Zack Snyder's currently in production "Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice".
No-one was quite sure of the context of the image, originally it was mislabeled as a failed costume mold, so many dismissed it out of hand. Turns out the photo is real - the carving is actually part of a 15-foot or so tall statue of Superman that is being constructed for the film and is currently on set in Detroit.
The statue is situated on some stone steps in front of a green screen which will have some important building facade digitally added in later.
