Lana and Andy Wachowski's sci-fi epic "Jupiter Ascending" has been abruptly bumped from this year's release schedule just over six weeks from its debut.
Warner Brothers was slated to release the film on July 18th, a highly profitable time of year which they used for two of Chris Nolan's three Batman films. Now though, the film has been pushed all the way back to February 6th 2015.
The reason for the delay of the $150 million film is said to be due to it requiring more special effects work. The move means the studio has to swallow the marketing spend they've done on the movie thus far which has included various trailers and posters.
The delay has also had a knock on effect, pushing Liam Neeson's action movie "Run All Night" out of the February 6th slot - a new date has yet to be announced.
