Playtone, HBO and Gold Circle are confirmed to be developing a sequel to Nia Vardalos' 2002 hit comedy "My Big Fat Greek Wedding".
Vardalos has written the sequel and both she and John Corbett will reprise their roles from the first film. Rita Wilson, Tom Hanks and Gary Goetzman are also back as producers.
The sequel will deal with the reveal of a family secret and a new wedding that brings the Portokalos family back together again.
Vardalos says: "Now that I'm experiencing motherhood, I'm ready to write the next chapter of my family story. Of course a few jaded folks in the press corps will claim I ran out of money or just want to kiss John Corbett again. One of these things is true."
