The new "X-Men: Days of Future Past" has finally arrived and is now playing in cinemas worldwide. Aggregate critical reviews for the film have been the franchise's strongest yet with the film scoring a 91% and 7.6/10 on Rotten Tomatoes and a 74/100 on Metacritic.
Common praise includes the performances, the pacing, more intelligence than your average blockbuster, and keeping the time travel conceit being kept clear and easy to understand. Almost all agree it's the best film of the Summer thus far.
Some criticisms include a lack of any wider context making this a purely for fans only affair, that it's less character driven than previous outings, and a lack of humor and energy - with the notable exception of the Quicksilver scenes which have been unanimously praised.
Reviewers also seem to be quite split over which is the best "X-Men" film so far with both this and "X-Men: First Class" being mentioned the most, followed by "X2: X-Men United". What did you think? Does it live up to the hype? Is it the best in the series yet?
