Following on from rumors a few weeks back, 4A Games and Deep Silver have officially announced "Metro Redux," a completely re-mastered collection of the first-person survival horror games "Metro 2033" and "Metro: Last Light" for PC, Mac and both next-gen consoles.
The original "Metro 2033" has been rebuilt in the engine developed for the sequel "Metro Last Light," bringing in new graphics elements, level detail, greater visual fidelity, and gameplay elements from the latter into the former. Even the recent 'Last Light' is getting a graphical facelift - likely it will be optimised to work better with less power ('Last Light' is notorious for causing even high-end PCs to struggle).
The games will also boast new content, all the previously released DLC, advanced lighting, better character animation, dynamic weather, advanced enemy AI, improved fire and particle effects, weapon customization, silent kills and enemy takedowns.
There's also three difficulty modes - 'Survival Mode' has limited resources, a slowed reload speed, and more intelligent enemy AI; 'Spartan Mode' will have an abundance of resources and stronger combat skills; and 'Ranger Mode' which strips out Metro's HUD and follows 'hardcore rules'.
The new editions will run at 1080p/60FPS on PS4, and 900p/60FPS on Xbox One. Both games will be available for purchase separately at $24.99 each, or together for $49.99.
