Following the terrible reaction to "Grace of Monaco" last week, Cannes has gotten off to a slow start with only the British period drama "Mr. Turner" drawing strong reviews thus far.
That changed last night though when "Capote" and "Moneyball" director Bennett Miller's new film "Foxcatcher" premiered to outright raves and a lot of serious awards contender talk.
The true story tale looks at the relationship between Olympic Wrestling Champion brothers Mark Schultz (Channing Tatum) and Dave Schultz (Mark Ruffalo), and eccentric millionaire John du Pont, played by an almost unrecognisable Steve Carell.
Glowing reviews can be found at Variety, The Playlist, The Guardian and The Hollywood Reporter. Along with the reviews, both a freshly released clip, and a teaser trailer that was previously released but quickly pulled a while back, have both gone online.
