Last year's British murder mystery event series "Broadchurch", which is getting an almost shot-for-shot remake in the U.S. as FOX's "Gracepoint" judging by that show's pre-launch trailer, topped this year's BAFTA TV Awards in London.

The eight-episode series won best drama, best actress (drama) for Olivia Colman and best supporting actor for David Bradley. Sean Harris won best actor (drama) for "Southcliffe", whilst Katherine Parkinson and Richard Ayoade took the comedy acting nods for their work on "The IT Crowd" finale special.

"Him and Her" won best sitcom honors for its fourth series, Sarah Lancashire ("Last Tango in Halifax") scored best supporting actress, and "Breaking Bad" won best international series.

David Tennant and Olivia Colman are shortly set to reprise their roles for the second series of "Broadchurch", whilst Charlotte Rampling has also scored a leading role.
