343 Industries has officially unveiled the first details on "Halo 5: Guardians," the next title, and the first Xbox One only title, in the immensely popular "Halo" video game series.
The game is still some time away with a Fall 2015 release date currently marked in. 343's GM Bonnie Ross revealed the news on a blog post and confirmed the game has been built with a "brand new and more powerful engine," but with some "core elements carried over from prior games".
She says the game will run "at 60 frames per second, on dedicated servers, with the scope, features and scale we've been dreaming of for more than a decade" She also confirms that the Steven Spielberg-produced "Halo" TV series is also targeting a projected Fall 2015 premiere.
Ross says the company has plans for this year but isn't specifying yet - the full details to be revealed during Microsoft's E3 briefing on June 9th. Most likely she's referring to the "Halo 2: Anniversary Edition" release due out at the end of the year, or hopefully a "box set" release of remastered versions of the previous games in the series.
