Sony Pictures has scored the film rights to Shane Kuhn's dark comedy novel "The Intern's Handbook" with plans to turn the project into a vehicle for actor Dave Franco.
The story deals with HR Inc., an intern placement agency that is actually a front for a network of assassins whose targets are high-profile corporate executives.
Their best agent is John Lago who is going a stint as a temp in a Manhattan law firm. Lago meets his toughest adversary yet: a female FBI agent assigned to take down the same target.
Oren Uziel ("22 Jump Street") is penning the script while Neal Moritz, Ori Marmur, Brad Mendelsohn and David Alpert will produce. Sony is looking at the work as a potential franchise.
