Michael Douglas is set to star in "The King of California," a comedy to be produced by the "Sideways" team of Alexander Payne and Michael London reports Variety.
The comedy concerns a young girl whose teenage years are complicated by an eccentric and manic-depressive father who becomes obsessed with his belief that there's buried treasure in the San Fernando Valley.
Shooting begins in February and will mark the feature directing debut of Michael Cahill, best known for his award-winning novel "A Nixon Man".
