The Rocking Horsemen
Jennifer Beals has joined the cast of Matthew Modine's coming-of-age film "The Rocking Horsemen". The story follows five teen boys on their journey to form a rock band during the summer of 1962 and chronicles what it's like to be young when everything seems possible and music can transform one's life.
Sean Astin, James Frecheville, Riley Griffiths, Jared Gilman, David Alan Grier, Miles Heizer, Eric Stoltz, Isaac White and Billy Zane also star. Filming is slated to begin this summer. [Source: THR]

Elisabeth Moss ("Mad Men," "Top of the Lake") has signed on for the lead in "The Strangers" director Bryan Bertino's horror tale "There Are Monsters". Richard Suckle will produce.

Swedish actor Matias Varela ("Snabba Cash") has scored a supporting role in the upcoming remake of "Point Break" at Alcon Entertainment. Varela plays Grommet, a member of Bodhi's gang of outlaws.

Luke Kleintank ("Bones," "Pretty Little Liars") has joined the cast of Boaz Yakin's family adventure "Max" at MGM. Kleintank will play a returning vet who worked with the titular canine
The story follows a Belgian Shepherd Malinois military dog who returns from Afghanistan traumatized by his handler's death. Adopted by the soldier's family, he bonds with his fallen partner's 14-year-old brother. [Source: Deadline]
