Linney Joins Condon's Retired Sherlock Film

Previously collaborating on "Kinsey," "The Fifth Estate" and "The Big C," Laura Linney and filmmaker Bill Condon are reuniting again for the upcoming retired Sherlock Holmes tale "A Slight Trick Of The Mind" for Archer Gray Productions and See-Saw Films.

Set in post-war England, the story sees a retired Holmes (Ian McKellen) troubled by both his diminishing mental faculties and the devastation he witnessed on a recent trip to Japan.

The great detective attempts to solve the case that forced him into retirement and uncover the mysteries of life and love.

Linney will portray the Holmes' housekeeper Mrs Munro. Hattie Morahan ("The Bletchley Circle") has also joined the cast.

Jeffrey Hatcher adapted the screenplay from Mitch Cullin's novel of the same name. Shooting begins this summer in the UK.
