"Da Vinci's Demons" Scores A Third Season

Starz has officially renewed its historical fantasy series "Da Vinci's Demons" for a ten-episode third season.

Creator David S. Goyer will hand over showrunning duties to John Shiban ("Hell On Wheels," "Breaking Bad," "The X-Files") who will join as executive producer. Goyer will also remain onboard as executive producer.

The series is currently just past the halfway mark in its second season run and is averaging 3.7 million viewers per episode across all platforms. Production on the third season is expected to begin in Wales later this spring for a 2015 premiere on Starz.

Additionally, Shiban has the drama series "Blackbirds," based on Chuck Wendig's novels, in the works at the network. That series follows a street-smart runaway hitchhiker who, when she touches a person, has the ability to see how they die.
