Comedian and actor Adam Devine is set to return for the follow-up to the a capella comedy hit "Pitch Perfect" at Universal Pictures and Gold Circle Films.
Devine played Bumper Allen, leader of the all-male campus singing champions The Treblemakers. Elizabeth Banks is directing the follow-up which begins filming this month. [Source: Deadline]
The Insect King
Melissa George ("The Good Wife," "Alias") is attached to star in Priscilla Cameron's coming-of-age tale "The Insect King" for 108 Media. Taika Waititi and Sophie Lowe also star.
The story follows a motherless 13-year-old boy who falls in love with an exotic 40-year-old woman only to discover that he is in competition with his father for her affections. [Source: Deadline]
Actress Scout Taylor-Compton has seemingly confirmed that Dimension Films' upcoming "Halloween 3D" will be a continuation of the two Rob Zombie-directed films rather than a reboot. Billy Slaughter ("Get On Up," "The East") has joined the cast of Stewart Hendler's live-action film based on the popular Mattel superhero property "Max Steel". Slaughter will play Agent Murphy in the film which is currently shooting in North Carolina.
The story centers on 16-year-old Max McGrath (Ben Winchell) and his alien companion Steel, who must harness and combine their new powers to create the superhero Max Steel. The duo set out to fight mysterious forces threatening their way of life. [Source: Heat Vision]
