Paramount Pictures has announced a March 25th 2016 release date for the upcoming sequel "Beverly Hills Cop 4," finally confirming the project is a go at the studio.
The film gained new heat back in December when producer Jerry Bruckheimer finalized his first-look deal with the studio. Talk has been simmering for months with the best indication being quotes from Bruckheimer last month that production would begin near the end of the year.
Eddie Murphy is set to reprise his iconic role as Axel Foley in a story that takes him back to his hometown of Detroit.
At the same time as this announcement, rival studio Warner Bros. Pictures issued the exact same release date for its upcoming Gerard Butler-led action thriller "Geostorm".
Dean Devlin directs the film in which Butler plays a satellite designer, who teams up with his estranged brother to save the world from a man-made storm, while an assassination attempt against the President's life unfolds. Filming begins this fall.
