When "X-Men: First Class" drew to a close, it appeared that Charles Xavier (James McAvoy) was confined to a wheelchair following a bullet to the spine, whilst Beast (Nicholas Hoult) had been permanently turned into his blue furball look.
Then the first promo material arrived for "X-Men: Days of Future Past" and in both instances that no longer appeared to be the case. Two clips released today from the film go a long way to explaining it.
The first sees a confrontation between a young Charles and Erik on a plane during which its revealed Charles has been undergoing spinal treatments to walk again, but at the cost of his powers. The second is a first meeting between Wolverine and Beast, where it's indicated the serum has worn off enough that Beast only turns into his blue furry form when provoked to anger.
