Writer Danny Strong ("Lee Daniels' The Butler," "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay") will make his directorial debut on "Salinger's War", a biopic of famed author J.D. Salinger for Black Label Media.

Strong wrote the script on spec and the story follows the author from his early days in New York's literary circle in the early 1940's. Right as his career is about to begin, WWII breaks out and Salinger goes off to fight. His experiences at war forever change him, and help him find his voice as a writer. [Source: THR]
