Jem and the Holograms
Ryan Guzman ("Step Up All In") has joined the cast of the "Jem and the Holograms" movie based on the popular 1980s toy line and cartoon series.
Guzman is playing Rio, the road manager and technical engineer for the band. He is also Jem's love interest in this live-action musical adventure. [Source: THR]
Ioan Gruffudd ("Fantastic Four," "Horatio Hornblower") is set to join Dwayne Johnson and Carla Gugino in the disaster epic "San Andreas" for New Line. Alexandra Daddario and Colton Haynes also star in the film which begins shooting in Australia in June.
Johnson stars as a former Special Ops firefighter scouring a post-quake California for his ex-wife and daughter. Gruffudd will play Daniel Reddick, a wealthy real estate developer who is engaged to Johnson's ex-wife (Gugino). [Source: Deadline]
Rob Lowe has signed on to star in Chris Wedge's live-action/CGI combo comedy "Monster". Details on Lowe's role and the plot are being kept under wraps.

Analeigh Tipton ("Warm Bodies," "Damsels in Distress") is in negotiations to star in "Catfish" directors Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman's new horror-thriller "Viral" (aka. "Pest") at Dimension Films.
The story centers on a parasitic outbreak that causes its hosts to crave their fellow humans, with alien tentacles growing from their bodies. Tipton plays a teenager whose family becomes trapped within the quarantined city as the infected grow more and more violent. [Source: Deadline]
