Oscar-winning filmmaker Danny Boyle is in early talks to direct the Steve Jobs biopic at Sony Pictures.
Boyle would take over from David Fincher who had been in talks but ultimately passed. Fincher was said to want Christian Bale for the role of the late Apple mogul.
Boyle on the other hand may be re-teaming with his "The Beach" star Leonardo DiCaprio as the actor has also been approached to star but has not yet signed.
Based on the Walter Isaacson biography, Aaron Sorkin penned the script for the film which is said to focus around three major keynote speeches Jobs did.
Scott Rudin is producing. DiCaprio's next film, "The Revenant," begins filming in September.
