"West of Memphis" and "Deliver Us From Evil" documentary filmmaker Amy Berg has reportedly sought the involvement of 31-year-old Michael Egan for her upcoming documentary about sex abuse in Hollywood.
A source for The Daily Mail says that Berg's company Disarming Films reached out to Egan last week for his participation in the project which Berg has been working on for two years. According to their source:
"Just this week, I got a message from Disarming Films, a documentary film company working out of Los Angeles. They said they are making a documentary about a bunch of children molested by somebody in the film industry. I never contacted them back. They wanted videos and pictures of Michael and a few others he knew. The film company said they were working on numerous children, now adults, now coming forward about this."
Berg confirmed to the paper she is working on the documentary, but declined to offer further details. The project is not listed on her production company's slate.
Word on the project follows on from the news this week that a civil suit has reportedly named "X-Men" director Bryan Singer as one of several defendants in allegations of sexual abuse that took place in 1999. Singer's attorney has labelled Egan's lawsuit "absurd and defamatory" and has already begun fighting back.
