Paramount Pictures' long gestating "The Secret Life of Walter Mitty" has cooled again with the studio confirming the project has gone into turnaround says Reuters.
Owen Wilson recently withdrew from the project leaving Zach Braff as the front-runner to play Mitty in the remake of 1947 comedy classic. Scarlett Johansson was tipped to co-star with Wilson and even with his departure, she's still interested apparently.
The fact that a female lead couldn't be locked down seems to be the main reason for its collapse. Paramount denied that the delay in casting a female lead played a role in pushing Wilson off the project.
