"Guardians of the Galaxy" Gets A Comic Prequel

Though Marvel Studios' "Guardians of the Galaxy" doesn't open until August, the company has just released a tie-in digital comic that sets up some of the events in the film.

Dubbed "Marvel's Guardians of the Galaxy Prequel Infinite Comic," the story centers around Gamora (Zoe Saldana) who heads to a crime-ridden world known as Conjunction on a mission for The Collector (Benicio del Toro).

The project re-teams writers Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, the pair responsible for the current incarnation of the team as a result of their 2007 comic storyline.

It's the second such 'enhanced digital comic' setting up an upcoming release following the prelude comic for "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" that hit in January.

The 'Guardians' prequel is now available at Marvel's comic store and on ComiXology platforms.
