French film company Wild Bunch is planning a remake of the 80's horror B-movie classic "Piranha". Chuck Russell ("Eraser", "The Scorpion King") has penned a script for the project which will be marketed at the AFM next week reports Variety.
In the original 1978 "Piranha," a particularly nasty prehistoric strain of the flesh-eating fish is unleashed in Arizona's Lake Havasu just as college kids come to party there.
Budgeted at $20-25 million, the new "Piranha" will shoot in the US in March or April, no cast is yet in place.
Thanks to 'Berry'.
