Fox stunned the audience at CinemaCon this week, showcasing the extended opening sequence of this May's "X-Men: Days of Future Past". Set in the ruined remains of a city, we see various mutants battling with Sentinels, with the X-Men suffering a few apparent casualties.
One of the bits of footage though showed an unexpected surprise. In the famed comic version of 'Days of Future Past', Kitty Pryde is the one who travels back in time. In all the trailers for the film so far, Wolverine is the one that does it. According to Heat Vision, it's not that simple as footage showcased at CinemaCon shows:
"Both Kitty Pryde (Ellen Page) and new mutant Bishop (Omar Sy) disappearing from a warehouse following the two attempting a ritual not unlike the one seen in Chris Claremont and John Byrne’s original Days of Future Past comic book. Not only that, but their disappearance also seemingly removes both Sentinels and damage from the warehouse, suggesting some kind of interruption in the timestream."
If Kitty and Bishop travel to the past, this does create the question of what other kind of time travel antics will occur in the film.
