MGM is planning to revive its "Barbershop" franchise, with Ice Cube negotiating a deal to star in a third film in the series.
Writers are being sought for the project which hopes to get Cedric the Entertainer and Queen Latifah back as well. The first film opened in 2002 and made $75 million from a $12 million budget. The 2004 sequel scored $65 million from a $30 million budget.
This marks yet another franchise for Cube who will soon appear in the sequels "22 Jump Street" this year and "Ride Along 2" in 2015.
Cube, Matt Alvarez, Bob Teitel and George Tillman Jr. will produce.
