Cloud Nine: "Al Ruddy has a new project, "Cloud Nine," about a has-been coach (Burt Reynolds) who launches a women's volleyball team with a difference: It's for strippers. "Cloud" will be directed by "Hairy Tale" helmer Harry Basil..." (more info). Goal: "Michael Winterbottom has come aboard to direct "Goal!," the first film in a trilogy about the rise of a Latino soccer star. The lead will be played by Diego Luna ("Y tu mama tambien"), with Stellan Skarsgard as the coach of Newcastle United, the English team he joins in the first movie. Principal photography will start in April..." (more info). Silver City: "Newmarket Films has sealed a deal to acquire US distribution rights to indie auteur John Sayles' political satire. "City" stars Maria Bello, Thora Birch, Chris Cooper, Richard Dreyfuss, Daryl Hannah, Danny Houston, Kris Kristofferson and Tim Roth. Set in Colorado during a state gubernatorial race, the film follows a grammatically challenged, born-again candidate who is the scion of a formidable right-wing political dynasty..." (more info). The Love Boat: "Producer David Permut has ramped up development of the project, aimed as a broadly comic reinvention of the hit TV series with the Bermuda Triangle as a destination. He's seeking writers and planning a hip-hop version of the skein's theme song..." (more info). Will: "Revolution Studios has bought the spec script "Will" from first-time scribe Josh A. Cagan for partner Elaine Goldsmith-Thomas to produce. Described as in the vein of the 1980 laffer "My Bodyguard," story concerns an outcast and how he finds his way among a high school's cliques and bullies..." (more info).Alias: E! Online reports that Lena Olin may be returning to "Alias". Lena is close to signing a deal to reprise her role as Sydney's mother, Irina, for at least one episode this season as part of a big reveal involving that whole crazy Sloane affair, which could include another player.
