Not all young adult franchises are the same, at least according to the star of one who is not a fan of another.
"Divergent" actress Shailene Woodley has begun promotional rounds for the the potential franchise launcher with the actress being set up as the 'next' potential Jennifer Lawrence.
Speaking with Teen Vogue (via E! Online), Woodley spoke about other films based on young adult franchise - namely "The Twilight Saga" - and did not have kind words for that series:
"Twilight, I'm sorry, is about a very unhealthy, toxic relationship. She falls in love with this guy and the second he leaves her, her life is over and she's going to kill herself! What message are we sending to young people? That is not going to help this world evolve."
The actress certainly knows her subject matter, along with "Divergent" she also stars in the upcoming "The Fault in Our Stars" about a romance between two terminally ill teenagers, and scored acclaim for portraying young love much more accurately in last year's "The Spectacular Now".
