Steve McQueen's "12 Years A Slave" proved the big winner at the 29th Annual Independent Spirit Awards on Saturday.
'Slave' took best feature, best director, best screenplay, best cinematography, and best supporting actress for Lupita Nyong'o.
The three other acting awards went to Oscar frontrunners Matthew McConaughey ("Dallas Buyers Club"), Cate Blanchett ("Blue Jasmine") and Jared Leto ("Dallas Buyers Club").
"Blue Is The Warmest Color" won best international film, "20 Feet From Stardom" took best documentary, and "Fruitvale Station" scored best first feature.
"Short Term 12" took best editing, "Nebraska" won best first screenplay, and "This Is Martin Bonner" won the John Cassavetes award.
