Filmmakers Mike Cahill ("Another Earth") and Jeff Wadlow ("Kick-Ass 2") are reportedly on the short list to direct the "Masters of the Universe" movie at Universal Pictures.
The news comes from Variety reporter Justin Kroll who says the final decision about said to come around next week.
The Wrap adds that Harald Zwart ("The Mortal Instruments: City of Bones") and "The LEGO Movie" editor Chris McKay are also in contention with McKay said to have "the most momentum".
This is a very different list to last month's reported 'short list' of helmers which included Rian Johnson ("Looper"), Joe Cornish ("Attack the Block"), Andres Muschietti ("Mama"), Phil Lord and Chris Miller ("The LEGO Movie") and Kirk De Micco and Chris Sanders ("The Croods").
Jon M. Chu was originally slated to helm this He-Man reboot, but dropped out in October. At last report Terry Rossio is working on the script.
