Lacking some of the major tentpoles of other studios, Sony Pictures co-chairman Amy Pascal confirms the company is doubling down on its "Spider-Man" franchise. The aim? An annual Spidey-related release.
"We are expanding the ‘Spider-Man' universe into ‘The Sinister Six' and ‘Venom,' so that we have ‘Spider-Man' movies every year" says Pascal.
Alex Kurtzman is slated to direct and co-write "Venom" while Drew Goddard will write and potentially direct "The Sinister Six". While both films are in development, neither has set a date yet.
Pascal has also confirmed that Marc Webb is returning to direct "The Amazing Spider-Man 3" which is due for release in June 2016.
