Bracey Takes Keanu's Role In "Point Break"

Australian actor Luke Bracey has scored the lead role of Johnny Utah opposite Gerard Butler's Bodhi in Ericson Core's remake of "Point Break" at Alcon Entertainment.

Bracey will play the hotshot FBI agent whom Keanu Reeves starred as in the first film, Butler takes on the Patrick Swayze role.

Kurt Wimmer penned the script for the new film which shifts the action from surfing and skydiving to a more extreme sports angle. Filming aims to begin this Summer.

Bracey played Cobra Commander in "G.I. Joe: Retaliation," was recently cast in the film adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' "The Best of Me," and was said to be a major contender for the "50 Shades of Grey" film adaptation.

Bracey's mostly known for a several month stint as Trey Palmer on the long-running soap "Home and Away" which also launched the careers of the likes of Chris Hemsworth, Melissa George, Isla Fisher, Heath Ledger, Ryan Kwanten, Isabel Lucas, Sharni Vinson and Todd Lasance.
