A report earlier today indicated a sequel was in the works to the 1996 animated/live-action hit "Space Jam". According to Deadline, said sequel was to serve as a starring vehicle for NBA MVP LeBron James.
The first film starred Michael Jordan and various other top NBA players like Charles Barkley, Larry Bird and Patrick Ewing. It went on to become a worldwide box-office hit with $230 million.
Charlie Ebersol was linked as producer for the sequel from a script by his brother Willie Ebersol.
Now though, ESPN's Brian Windhorst has refuted the report on Twitter, saying: "LeBron sources refute Deadline report, there's no Space Jam 2 or Warner Bros. project in works."
