"The Walking Dead" comic creator Robert Kirkman is set to produce the sci-fi thriller feature "Air". Kirkman has enlisted "Walking Dead" TV series star Norman Reedus for the project which also stars Djimon Hounsou.
Set in an underground cryogenic facility after a nuclear fallout renders the atmosphere unbreathable, two custodians (Reedus, Hounsou) struggle to preserve their own sanity and lives while maintaining the extremely fragile environment of the last livable place on earth.
Christian Cantamessa, the co-writer and lead designer on acclaimed video games "Red Dead Redemption" and "Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas," is co-writing the script with Chris Pasetto.
Cantamessa will also make his feature directorial debut with the low-budget film. David Alpert, Brian Kavanaugh-Jones, and Chris Ferguson will also produce.
Sony Pictures Worldwide Acquisitions is in final negotiations to acquire the film.
