Universal Pictures has used the Olympics as a launch platform for the first footage from the Angelina Jolie-directed "Unbroken" which is currently in production.
Acclaimed rising young star Jack O'Connell plays Louis Zamperini, an Olympic athlete in 1936 who joined the Air Force in World War II as a bombardier. His plane crashed and he spent 47 days lost at sea before the Japanese Navy rescued him and placed him in a POW camp where he was tortured.
The film also boasts a screenplay by Richard LaGravenese and the Coens, along with cinematography by the widely beloved Roger Deakins ("Skyfall," "Prisoners").
This three-minute piece blends documentary footage, an interview with the real Zamperini, and what looks like a finished trailer for the film itself - what could well be a major awards contender for next year.
