Departing the film several years ago, John Singleton is back onboard the untitled Tupac Shakur biopic at Morgan Creek Productions.
Singleton has closed a deal to rewrite, direct and produce the film about the iconic hip-hop artist, his rise to fame and his murder in 1996 in Las Vegas.
Singleton worked together with Shakur on "Poetic Justice" and has grown close with the Shakur family since the rapper's death.
An actor is now being sought to play Shakur, and the aim is to begin production in June. James G. Robinson and David Robinson will produce.
