Liam Neeson is set to star in Martin Scorsese's "Silence" for Emmett/Furla/Oasis.
An adaptation of Shusako Endo's novel of the same name, the story follows a Portuguese missionary sent to seventeenth-century Japan.
Andrew Garfield, Ken Watanabe, and Adam Driver also star. Neeson's role is unknown at this point.
Scorsese has been developing the film on and off for two decades and co-wrote the script with Jay Cocks. Filming begins in Taiwan later this year.
The news comes as Scorsese and producer Cecchi Gori have confirmed that the matter of the lawsuit between them has been "settled in its entirety".
